Viper Alarm model unknown
Viper remote 7145V
TLDR:
Open drivers door and keep open
Turn ignition to on but don't start engine. Also leave on.
Press and release valet/control button 7 time then hold on 8th press.
Alarm will chirp 7 times. If it does not chirp 7 times start over.
Press lock button on remote. Add up to 8 total remotes.
Release valet/control button. Alarm sounds once.
Turn off ignition. Alarm sounds once.
Remote/Remotes should now work.
The Viper 7145v is used is several viper car alarms. I am not sure which alarm I have. The viper alarm can be paired to the remotes using the control button or valet button. My control button was located above the rear view mirror.
The alarm remote can be paired using several channels:
Channel # | Function |
1 | Arm/Disarm |
2 | Panic Only |
3 | Silent mode, Remote Valet, Trunk Release |
4 | Remote starter or other accessories |
5 | Arm Only |
6 | Disarm Only |
7 | Auto learn standard 4 button configuration |
8 | Auto learn standard 3 button configuration |
9 | Delete all transmitters |
Channels are accessed by pressing control button the number of times to match the channel. Channel 1 is one press and release then hold and so on.
Channel one should allow the pairing of each button on the remote to be pair separately. I was able to pair the Arm button but not the disarm button. I am not sure why.
Channels 2,3,and 4 are self explanatory and i did not try because I don't have those features.
Channel 5 pair the remote so ONLY Arm button works.
Channel 6 pairs the remote so ONLY Disarm button works.
Note: you can not pair remote to both channel 5 and 6.
Channel 7 is the channel we need. The Viper 7145v uses the standard 4 button configuration.
Channel 8 pairs some remote with only three button. I don't know which remotes this would cover.
Channel 9 will remove all remotes from the alarm and reset the alarm to factory settings.
Note: To clear all saved remotes you have to use one remote that is already paired.
Note: The alarm can only have 8 remotes pair to it.(it maybe less than 8).
To start the process disarm the alarm.
Open the driver door and leave open until done.
Turn on the ignition but don't start the engine. It must be ON not just Accessory position.
Press the control/valet button the number of times to match the channel. In our case we will select channel 7, so press button 7 time then hold on the 8th press. You will hear 7 chirps. If you hear a different number of chirps you are in the wrong channel and you will not be happy with the result. If you hear wrong number of chirps turn ignition off and back on and repeat with correct number of button presses.
Press the Arm button on the remote. Alarm will make a short alarm sound.
If you have multiple remote just press the Arm button on each remote while holding the control button.
Release the control button. The Alarm will make a short alarm sound
Turn off the ignition. The Alarm will make a short alarm sound.
Your remote/remotes should be pair to the alarm now.
Note: All the steps are timed and will time out so do them quickly. The timeouts are not short but will kick-in if you pause to think about something while you are working.
